New Haven Reads Mission: Founded to share the joy and power of reading, New Haven Reads partners with the community to provide free 1-on-1 tutoring, educational family support, and a book bank to empower aspiring readers to master the literacy skills needed to thrive in school and life.
New Haven Reads Vision: Working together to create a more just community, where all children can achieve lifelong success through the power of reading.
New Haven Reads Impact: Since New Haven Reads was founded in 2001, we have supported more than 3,500 students and distributed over 2.2 million books back into the community, thanks to the help of over 2,900 volunteers.
The New Haven Reads Book Bank is set up like a bookstore, but everything is free! It contains books for both children and adults. All of their books are donated by individuals or community groups.
